Fee-and-dividend is the most politically realistic approach for reducing carbon emissions as the good majority of the people will come out ahead - if 100 percent of the fee goes to the dividend - as James Hansen proposes. It is our best chance of achieving the necessary political will.

It's time to replace fossil fuels with American "home-grown" renewable energy. We spend over 1 billion/day for foreign fossil fuels we are "addicted" to. This adds not only greenhouse gas emissions to the atmosphere but nearly 1/2 Trillion dollars/year to our national debt. 1/2 Trillion dollars per year will build thousands of megawatts of solar power parks. Let's start by taxing foreign oil with a per barrel tax, or tariff, and use these revenues to jump-start renewable energy. This will help us get off foreign oil now, and all fossil fuels sooner, rather than later! Renewable energy is the future, let's start now!

America needs another energy plan than buying FOREIGN OIL to the amount of 0 billion EVERY YEAR!

That's 1/2 Trillion dollars leaving America's economy to buy "dirty oil" from foreign suppliers/countries, many of who don't like us.

The Renewable Energy Institute is developing the "American Energy Plan" and goal #1 is ending all foreign oil imports (except from our allies/friends like Canada) and the Fee and Dividend as proposed by Dr. Hansen can make this happen within 10 years. While we are ending our imports of foreign oil, we will still need oil which we can produce here in the USA, creating new American jobs instead of exporting these jobs as we have done for > 40 years.
